The Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation is pleased to announce 73 artists and 12 venues for the third edition of the Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB) taking place from October 22, 2022 to February 23, 2023.
The Bangkok Art Biennale with its third edition’s theme of CHAOS : CALM reflects obstacles that humankind is confronting during these precarious times. Artists whose works reflect turbulence, trauma and angst remind us of the fragility and weakness of human species. At the same time, in our dystopian and delusional world, artists offer glimpses of hope, perseverance and determination to recover and thrive. Out of chaos, surprisingly, there are ways through art to overcome deep tensions by creating relative calm, reflection and tranquility.
Founded in 2017, Bangkok Art Biennale is an art festival set in the capital of Thailand. Spanning various venues over a period of four months, BAB transforms the bustling city of Bangkok into a lively hub that celebrates art, creativity, and culture. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in contemporary art from a diverse range of contemporary artists, both local and international, throughout the city in art and cultural spaces, as well as in Bangkok’s iconic landmarks, temples and public spaces. The Biennale has also expanded to virtual platforms to allow people from all over the world to view the exhibition online. In addition, BAB is accompanied by a rich programme of public events, including educational conferences, talks, hands-on workshops, guided visits, publications, and online programs to ensure a memorable and educational experience for all.
