Wanmuhaemin E-taela | Bangkok Art Biennale 2022

Wanmuhaimin E-Taela was born in Narathiwas. Graduated from BFA at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, Thailand. He currently studies at the Department of mixed media, Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University.

Wanmuhaimin grew up in a family of Malay script typographers. He absorbed ethnic style of art and aesthetic of Melayu which reflect in his art. After graduation from Pattani, Wanmuhaimin was interested in social and environmental issues in the Southernmost part of Thailand. He chose art as a way to reflect the truth to society. Wanmuhaimin is skillful in photography and Malay Typography, he always applies these techniques with other mixed media to present topics of cultural identity, ethnicity, and problem of violence and turmoil in areas of his hometown.

His works have been exhibited across Thailand such as “MANUSIA” (2018) from Group exhibition “Catching the light” at Patani Artspace, Pattani ; Solo exhibition “City of Goat” (2022), exhibited at Head High Second Floor, Chiangmai ; TADIKA (2022) is part of group exhibition “Deep South” at VS Gallery, Bangkok. Moreover, Wanmuhaimin is a social entrepreneur who founded the “Dream Tadika” project to improve the quality of religion school through art.

Wanmuhaimin E-Taela lives and works in Nakornpathom, Thailand.

วันมุฮัยมีน เกิดที่จังหวัดนราธิวาส สำเร็จการศึกษาปริญญาตรีศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ (ปี 2563) สาขาทัศนศิลป์ จากคณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์วิทยาเขตปัตตานี ปัจจุบันกำลังศึกษาระดับปริญญาโทที่สาขาวิชาทัศนศิลป์(สื่อผสม) คณะจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม และภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร วันมุฮัยมีนเติบโตในครอบครัวช่างเขียนลวดลายตัวอักษรมลายู ทำให้เขาซึมซับสุนทรี ยศาสตร์ของศิลปะพื้นถิ่น ซึ่งสะท้อนออกในผลงานศิลปะของเขา เมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษาปริญญาตรี ด้วยความสนใจต่อประเด็นปัญหาทางสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อมในพื้นที่สามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ จึงทำให้เขาเลือกใช้ศิลปะเป็นเครื่องมือเพื่อสะท้อนความจริงที่เกิดขึ้นกับสังคม วันมุฮัยมีนมีความถนัดด้านการถ่ายภาพและการเขียนภาษามลายู ผลงานส่วนใหญ่ของเขาจึงเป็นภาพถ่าย และงานศิลปะทีสร้างสรรค์ขึ้นด้วยการเขียนตัวอักษร รวมถึงสื่ออื่นๆ เพื่อนำเสนอประเด็นเรื่องอัตลักษณ์ทางวัฒนธรรม ชาติพันธุ์ ปัญหาและความไม่สงบในพื้นที่บ้านเกิดของเขาเอง

ผลงานศิลปะของวันมุฮัยมีน ถูกแสดงในแกลอรีต่างๆ ทั่วประเทศไทย เช่น ผลงาน“MANUSIA” (พ.ศ. 2561) จากนิทรรศการกลุ่ม“Catching the light” ที่ Patani Artspace ปัตตานี ; นิทรรศการเดี่ยว City of Goat (พ.ศ. 2565) จัดแสดงที่ Head High Second Floor จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ; ผลงานล่าสุด TADIKA จากนิทรรศการกลุ่ม South : ลึกลงไป ใต้ชายแดน ที่ VS Gallery กรุงเทพฯ นอกจากนี้ วันมุฮัยมีนสนใจในประเด็นปัญหาของการศึกษาในโรงเรียนตาดีกา (โรงเรียนสอนศาสนา) ในพื้นที่จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ จึงได้ก่อตั้งโครงการ “Dream Tadika” ขึ้นมาเพื่อสนับสนุนการศึกษาของโรงเรียนศาสนาผ่านกิจกรรมทางศิลปะ

ปัจจุบัน วันมุฮัยมีน พำนักและศึกษาต่อควบคู่กับการทำงานศิลปะที่นครปฐม ประเทศไทย
