The project Crying Sky was derived from his interest in ‘mysterious echoes’ in many areas around the world without any definite explanation of how and where they originated. These phenomena are relatable to local beliefs in various areas based on accounts of these sounds from the sky. The sounds are signs, communication and clashes among the nature, as well as the supernature. On the other hand, these sounds sent down from the sky and perceived by humans are warnings for changes, incidents that are about to take place or the near future beyond our control. 

As the sky has been defined as a representative of things including nature, gods, kings, ancestors, ghosts, calm, chaos and many others, these contextual meanings reveal dimensions and relations between the sky and humans. Besides, the sky is often referred to as the observer who reflects on world occurrences. For example, sadness flows through the air amidst thick clouds; a chaos resembles a storm turning the sky red; a new hope is like rays of golden light behind grey clouds after the rain. These sky occurrences reflect parallel stories of daily world events usually in their vertical relationship. However, the other side of this relationship has not been thoroughly explored and humans continue to yield to the sky. 

The work Crying Sky, 2022 is a collaboration between the artist and the sky and between human and nature. It aims to present horizontal relationship and to question the definition of the roles of the sky in terms of local belief, myth, account, culture, literature and scientific data. Crying Sky is a video installation comprising interviews, fabricated stories, odds and ends from tales, kite flying, sounds of Sanu (bow-shaped noise-maker attached to the top of kites), cultures, traditions, religious beliefs, local beliefs, ethnic stories, politics, power negotiation and social contexts in order to complete the definition of the sky and to raise the volume of human negotiation to the level where we can talk to the sky.
