“Temporary Insanity” features hundreds of brightly-coloured, interactive soft sculptures that hide an audio machine that responds directly to the movements and sounds of viewers entering the installation area. A field of red, orange, and yellow silk-covered forms transforms the space into a meditative installation. Their shimmering surfaces are made from renowned Thai silk, and the round and pear-shaped sculptures allude to the breast and other gender ambiguous forms that detect viewers’ footsteps and respond by rocking to their own rhythm. Like a crowd, the distinct individual sculptures collectively comprise a dynamic installation.
